Animal Care Staff

Are you ready to turn your love for animals into a rewarding career? If so, the Humane Society of Marathon County is looking for you!

As animal care staff, you will join the HSMC team in providing animals with daily attention and care. You will assist with a wide variety of tasks in multiple different areas of our full-service, open admission shelter. Our fast-paced workdays include:

• Animal caretaking
• Cage and kennel cleaning
• General housekeeping
• Facilities maintenance
• Computer and office work

HSMC shelters many types of animals, with varied energy levels and personalities. In addition to our quietest and calmest animals, be prepared to care for our rambunctious, and sometimes physically challenged animals. It’s not always easy, but it is always worth it!!

HSMC is staffed 365 days per year, and our open positions are extremely flexible. We will work with you to provide a schedule that works best for you.

Qualifications/Details:

• High School Diploma/GED Equivalent OR 16+ years old with a work permit
• Experience with handling animals is a plus
• Access to reliable transportation is preferred
• Shift hours and times are flexible
• Part-time positions are available. Starting hourly wage is $9.25 per hour, with many opportunities for career and wage growth right from the start!
