Paws For  A Cause

Did you know that the Humane Society of Marathon County is out and about every Saturday?  It's called "Paws for a Cause", and it's a great way for you to meet our adoptable animals, pick up a newsletter, adoption application or volunteer information, donate or just say "hi!".  We're at each location from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

• 1st Saturday - Marathon Town & Country
• 2nd Saturday - Petco
• 3rd Saturday - Katzenbarkers
• 4th Saturday - Harley-Davidson of Wausau

September 11, 2010 from 1:00- 5:00 P.M. Peaceful Pines is hosting a fundraising celebration at their location of 168 Lois Lane just 4 miles North of Mosinee off Hwy KK.  Peaceful Pines has been a long time supporter of HSMC and the community at large. This event will benefit HSMC, as well as the Humane Society of Portage County, Lincoln County Humane Society and New Life Pet Adoption Center. It's free and open to the public, with something for everyone and of course PETS WELCOME!!   This is just one more way they work to make a difference in the lives of pet owners and pets!  Keep watching for more info on this event...as we get it we'll be sure to pass it on to you!    

Paws On the Path 2010

September 18, 2010 from 11:00-3:00P.M. HSMC will hold our PAWS ON THE PATH pledge walk to raise funds for the pets and programs of the shelter. We have an amazing planning committee working on making this the best fundraiser we have ever seen! Shannon Schramm, Rhonda Barta, Linae Treu, Kathy Brown, Marcie Jascor, Lynn Talg, Christa Blaubach, Jeanne Blech and our own E.D. have been working diligently and hope YOU will join us to make this a success! PICK UP YOUR WALK FORM TODAY AT HSMC!

Registration will be from 9-10 a.m. with the walk starting at 11:00. Choose from a 1/2 mile or a 2 mile route, then stay around for lots of fun activities for everyone! There will be games for the pets and kids, demonstrations, exhibits, vendors, food, raffles, and awards for the top fundraisers in 3 categories: Top Individual, Top Team, and Top Corporate Team! WDEZ's Lee Peek & Nikki Montgomery will join WSAW CH7's Jeff Thelen as official walk leaders!
