Hello everyone at the Humane Society of Marathon County. I am writing to give you an update on Walker. We adopted him in September and I am happy to report that he has settled in well to our happy home in the country.
When we adopted him, we didn’t like the name Walker and he didn’t respond to it very well, so we renamed him Charlie. This name fits him much better and he now knows that it’s his name. Charlie looks at us when we call him and will come when he is in the house. He is taking lessons at Petco and he now knows several commands. He is learning how to loose leash walk, how to stay, and how to leave it. Charlie has a big yard to play in where he can chase his ball and any unfortunate mice that come along. Cats, you could learn some lessons from Charlie!
Charlie also likes to ride in the car, especially to his favorite place – the dog park! Charlie loves to run, run, run and he loves to meet other dogs. He is very friendly with the other dogs and always tries to play.
Here is a picture of Charlie with his new best buddy, Tim. Charlie is now 10 months old and his grown up fur is growing in, so he is a little bit darker than he was, but everyone still says he looks like a fox. We hope that Charlie will be a part of our family for a long time to come!
